Attic Shield is a family-operated, California C-2 & B licensed contractor based in Escondido, specializing in the two spaces of your home nobody sees and everybody feels: the attic and the crawl space. Why Attic Shield Exists

We started Attic Shield after seeing the same pattern under and above too many Southern California homes: rodent companies “sealing” entry points with foam that gets chewed through in days. Insulation crews blowing new material over droppings and mold. HVAC techs leaving disconnected ducts behind sealed hatches. Homeowners getting conflicting advice from three trades — and paying for the same attic twice.

The problem wasn’t that attic work is hard. It’s that it’s invisible. When nobody can see the work, corners get cut — unless the company builds proof into the process. 2Rodent exclusion with real materials — never foam

Per CDC guidance, a mouse fits through a gap the size of a dime, and a rat through a gap the size of a quarter. Spray foam does not stop either one — it crumbles and gets chewed through, which is why our technicians don’t carry foam guns. They carry galvanized steel mesh, sheet metal flashing, concrete patching, and screw-secured rodent-proof vent screens — materials rated for teeth that never stop growing.

3Insulation to Title 24 — sealed first, measured always

Every insulation system we install — blown-in fiberglass or batts — is built to California Title 24 energy code: the correct R-value for your climate zone, air sealing before the insulation goes in (the order that saves you from paying twice), and photo documentation of depth, coverage, and material.

4We protect the home, not just the attic

From arrival, your home is treated like the point of the job rather than the obstacle: padded floor runners and coverings on floors, corners, and doorways; containment barriers at the attic access; nearby air vents sealed so dust stays out of your HVAC; commercial HEPA vacuums and sealed disposal bags for everything that comes out — including our 23-horsepower extraction equipment for insulation removal.
