Will you dispose of everything?

Yes. All removed insulation and waste is securely bagged inside sealed systems and disposed of according to local regulations. Nothing rides through your hallways in an open container, and nothing is left at the curb.

Do I need to replace my insulation right away?

We recommend doing it within one to two weeks of removal to avoid temperature swings and energy loss — and ideally in the same project, since air sealing the exposed attic floor first is exactly the opportunity removal creates.

Can you test whether my old insulation is dangerous?

If your home predates the 1990s and the attic holds loose vermiculite, do not disturb it — certain vermiculite sources may contain asbestos, and testing by a qualified lab comes before any removal decision. We inspect, photograph, and tell you honestly whether standard removal applies or a specialist assessment comes first.

Is removal always necessary, or can insulation be topped up?

Clean, dry, uncontaminated attic insulation that has simply settled can sometimes be topped up — and we will tell you so, because the honest answer costs us revenue and earns us referrals. Contaminated, wet, or rodent-affected material must come out first, and air sealing belongs in the conversation either way. The photographs from the free inspection make the answer obvious rather than a matter of trust.

What happens to rodent waste found during removal?

It comes out with the attic insulation — feces, urine-soaked materials, nests, and food caches — followed by EPA-approved disinfectant application, with no dry sweeping at any stage. If entry points are found, we close them with 1/8-inch steel mesh or steel wool behind every seal, never foam alone, so the contamination does not restart the month after you paid to end it.
